Thermolyne micro kiln - need instructions
I bought this micro kiln a few years ago and have finally decided to start using it. Problem is I have no idea how to control it. If anyone could give me some basic instruction on how it works that would be great. Haven't been able to find an old manual anywhere and nothing so far on youtube.

guessing by the image..... looks like you simply turn the dial.
other that that.... I don't see any other adjustments on it. as for the electrical hooking up the controller to the elements, I typically call a buddy with electrical engineering degree to help me figure out whats what. |

As Damon said, you just turn the dial and set it to the desired temperature on the analog output. I don't have that unit but I have a kiln that works the same way. If you are going to have to soak at temperature for any length of time you're going to have to sit there and monitor it. You could mark desired temperatures with a marker around the dial but all it does is set the length of the cycles.
You could probably bypass the dial with a PID unit but it's nothing that I've tried Doug __________________ If you're not making mistakes then you're not trying hard enough |

I see a possible problem with that unit. The dial indicates it is in the off position. If that is true and it has not been heated up, your temp gauge is sitting at about 850 degrees. If the kiln has not been on for a while, you have a bad temp gauge that is not working right.
