Something a little different
This is a sheath for a guy that shoots in long range rifle competitions. It is made to hold two short action Remington bolts. They don't allow bolts in the rifles unless the shooter is on the firing line. He didn't like carrying them in his pocket and wanted something a little more comfortable that protected the bolts. This is what I came up with.

Looks good. I'm sure that he will get some comments on the range about that neat little rig.

It's probably about 7 oz. Wish I had made the back out of 9 to 10 oz, but all it has to do is just hang there, so it really doesn't matter much. Maybe on the next one. The bolt on the right came out of a Mauser action and is a little too long so it is sticking out the bottom of the sheath. I just stuck it in there to see how it would look and didn't have two short bolts.

Right cool fellas. Was a bit curious on the Mauser bolt hanging out if the guy shoots Rem., then I realized the pic was taken in your shop. Thanks for the clarification.

Sandy you are welcome down here any time! We got rooms and it is not a dry county! It will be you giving the lessons though. It was good seeing you at the Blade Show. I hope the world is treating you well.
I've made Knife sheaths, holsters for pistols, revolvers, both strong side and cross draw, belt type and shoulder holsters, but this is the first one of these things I've made. I didn't even know that they had to keep their bolts out until Charlie told me. The next one, if there is one, will be better and much easier to make. I learned a couple of things on this one. |
