Engraved sub hilt fighter

I recently finished this sub hilt fighter for a customer, and he had me send it to Ray Cover for engraving. Ray cut his own bold intertwined scrollwork, my favorite of all scroll patterns, into the fittings. I wish more of my customers would go for engraving on my sub hilts. It sure makes for a great look.

The knife has an 8" CPM154 blade, 416 fittings, and an ironwood handle.

Thanks, folks. Ray certainly is a great engraver. CW, I believe the reason I like Ray's scrollwork so much is because its fluidity. Ron, I trimmed a shot of the whole handle and blew it up to show the guard and sub hilt. It's probably bigger than I ever saw it. I only put on my #4 lens Optivisor before I shipped it out. I'm sure it would hold up well to a much higher magnification.

We knifemakers and our customers are very fortunate. The quality of work from so many of the contemporary engravers is outstanding. The downside is that you engravers are so good and so popular that it's hard to get any work when it's needed!
