Blade thickness 1/2 inch????? Is that correct. The thing must be very heavy. Love the layered look to the blade though.

the blade is made from a carbon damascus. and yes, its 1/2 inch THICK

@paulpeter,
i made it from 1.4034 - a german steel.
the thickness is 20mm - thats a little less than 1 inch

i just made it for fun...
