What makes the blade swing? I don't think my blades 'swing' so I'm not sure what you are asking. All my blades are happily married to their handles.
I make oilite bearings for my blades. Most folders are probably made with no bearing at all, just a hole in the blade for the pivot and that works just fine. The detent ball is a single ball bearing that is pressed into the end of the lock bar on a liner lock. When the blade is closed, the ball falls into a small dent, which is called the detent, in the side of the blade. It's purpose is to hold the blade in the closed position.... |

The real trick is to get the blade pivot hole very smooth, a reamer is helpful here.
