Eli it is, if you have 1/8 thick 1084. Maybe 10" or so..

Just figured if you wanted some then someone else with a little 01 would want to trade for some redwood burl too.

O1 is not the best stuff to use in a forge. That said, if you want to make a hatchet/tomahawk with it just take a bar of mild steel, shape it into a loop to form the eye of the hatchet, and forge weld the two ends to the blob of O1. One of the few times that using mild steel is acceptable in knife making ...

By the way that O-1 of which I speak is about 1960 vintage if that makes any difference.

Being made in 1960 probably isn't an issue but that might not be the only question. I bought a thick piece of O1 like that off eBay about 14 years ago. Did a lot of work turning it into an integral knife. When I did the HT on it the knife cracked and split like crazy. Turns out, it wasn't O1 after all ....

Eric I have some un-stabilized maple burl. I have a set of slabs cut for a full tang and I have a block if you'd want to do a hidden tang. I also have a block of Cocobolo somewhere... I have some parts to build a 2" forced air burner if you happen to be in need of that.
