training videos
Does anyone have a list of available training videos and who we could order them from? I have heard of a couple on the knife list but can't seem to get a list anywhere. I am interested in flat grinding and construction techniques for fixed blade knives. I have most of the books but I hope that watching someone do the deed would help. Thanks Steve |

Steve- The "Loveless Legend" video is available through Blade Magazine. Although it deals with hollow grinding, the assembly techniques for fixed blades are very solid. If you are like me, you will watch it *many* times, and learn something new with each viewing. |

Re: Videos
Steve I highly recomend The Loveless Legend, I have seen the tape and it is a good place to start. They are a lot of good books out there but none of them cover everything and for me a pic just won't cut it. I suspect you are like me somewhat, you gotta see it to fully understand it. |

I have the Loveless legend and Geno's video. Both are great. Geno explains more than Loveless does in his video (in my opinion). Also, not everyone has the milling machines, milling jigs and patterns that Loveless shows in use. Geno does not use them in his video at all. Geno also shows filework and tooling leather that Loveless does not. Loveless' video is very good but I was disapointed that I did not have the tools needed to duplicate his methods. I therefore had to come up with another way to do the same things. It forces you to be creative and the is a positive thing. Personally, I would spring for Geno's video first. Go here www.centercross.com/video.htm to order the video. |
