This is what a "bad" day looks like!



5" Irwin vise that I've had for 9 months! Ya know it's not gona be a good day when is starts like that.

Although Irwin advertises an "exclusive" warranty.....I learned to day that it's only 90 days, and even then you have to send it back to the company!

Last of those Ed will be buying!

I'm pretty sure I have one just like it. Can't wait for my turn, never paid attention, but I'm going to check for that hollow on the inside. Glad I do have a couple of old flea market finds, they don't make 'em like they used to.

Bet you'd feel better if you emptied a clip from the Ruger on it, Craig

That is a first for me. Never saw a vise break like that. A friend of mine ruined the threads on a shaft one time by using a cheater to try and get it tighter than he could by hand.

Ed, you're not supposed to use the vice jaws for pressing your damascus. That is what the power hammer and hydraulic press and anvil are for.
