That is just scrap graphite that I got on Ebay. I initially machined it for alloying small steel billets but chipped the side. So now I just pour non-ferrous into it.
Graphite is soft enough you can carve it. To make small guard blanks from scrap you just need a non-stick surface that will allow it to coalesce together. I use graphite because induction will produce heat int he graphite as well as the metal. Remember you can build two different sized forge canisters and just transfer the blower/burner from one to the other. As long as the burner opening is the same size. |

No I bought it from Grant Sarver (RIP) and the cooler from Pacific Welding in Tacoma.
