cutting mosaic pins

I am having a problem cutting my mosaic pins down to size. I usually make them in 6" or 12" lengths si I need to cut off pieces. The 1/4" pins aren't too bad but 1/8" pins tend to get bent or distorted real easy. What do you use to cut 1/8" mosaic pins?
Thanks
Steve

If I was having that problem I'd try an abrasive cut off wheel like on a Dremel (or the air powered one I use). Make the pins a little longer than you need as you may scorch it a little but you shouldn't bend it if you cut it this way....

That would be my first suggestion, too, Steve.

I know I'm just a newbie, but the cutoff wheels and a Dremel work great for me. I use the same wheels to cut bolster material as well as blade steel to length because I don't own a metal cutting bandsaw yet.

You can imagine how many wheels I go through.

Cutting the pins

Mosaic pins are made with epoxy, so you should be careful of heat buildup when using an abrasive cutoff disk. I just cut mine with a jeweler's saw and a medium blade.
