What's in Lexol?
Does anyone know what the ingredients of Lexol leather conditioner are? The MSDS sheets don't give up anything.

Mike, I do not believe that the makers have to post the ingredients unless it is used topically or edible. That way they can maintain their little secrets. I could be wrong on this---and that would not be a first!!!

Does it have a patent number on the bottle?
From what I understand, when you apply for a patent all details of the product have to be listed out, so maybe that way? From what I understood that's why the colonel's secret recipe isn't patented, someone could just look it up and make their own at home. Really doesn't stay secret if there is a patent. I could be wrong though. |

Sandy - ask Carla (Purdy Gear) she wrote about it a while back - IIRC it's a sulphonated neatsfoot oil

Haven't seen Karla lately, Chuck---and this would be a good excuse to do so!

Thought I would bump this topic back up.. found this site/link, http://www.properautocare.com/leclcoex.html (you willhave to cut and paste into the url address) that appears to be an interview with the Lexol folks on their product line. It may also something created by the corporate PR department. Regardless, it is an interesting read.
