Knifemaking Equipment and Supplies For Sale Forum

Would you give some thought to a "Knifemaking Equipment, and Supplies" For Sale forum? It could be put in with the other for sale forums, but dedicated to those self descriptive items.

Mike I heartily agree. This would serve to remove much confusion and make your position as moderator a bit more clearly defined..I believe. We can only hope it flies. Thanks.

Seems like a great idea Mike! Look what a revamp did for the "CKD Community Forum".

I think the Buy/Sell/Trade should be dropped and two new areas added - One for Equipment/Supply sales and one for collector's (and maker's) to sell personal CUSTOM knives from their collections.

A second possibility is to bring the Supply Center down to the Sales Area to replace the the Buy/Sell/Trade forum and still add the Collector Forum.

What about one for equip., one for supplies, one or two for knives, and keeping them somewhat together...?

I like Steve Pryor's idea.

It separates it into easy to understand categories.

1) Maker Sales
2)Dealer Sales
3)Odd Custom Knife Sales
4)Tools and Equipment
5)Knifemaking Parts & Supplies

The current supply category could be a 'where can I find . . ?', a Supply Source forum. If you are looking for something in particular, ask the question and others will respond with the source/link.

Just my thoughts....

It would be a good idea to have areas for knifemakers to post their surplus supplies, and equipment they want to sell, or trade.
Members that sell supplies could post here also.

You could have another area for commercial sales, where suppliers might want to post specials, new products etc.
You might even be able to get a fee from knifemakers supply houses, for being able to post products here. Although I will leave the feasability of this up to someone else.

You could still have a Supply area for people posting news of suppliers, products, somewhat like it is now. All these forums could be combined under one roof, so to speak.

This is just a rough idea.

Edited to add; Knives would be seperate for sale forums. That was the whole purpose of suggesting a Knifemakers supplies and equipment forum, to get this stuff away from knives, so people didn't have to sift through to find what they want.

Really great idea, would make it easier to find specific items, tools, supplies, and knives. Talk to Alex and make it happen.
