Lightbulb 'Worthy Cause' auction forum?

Alex,

We have a good dilemna on our hands. Read what is going on in regards to one of our members:

http://www.knifenetwork.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=31887

Bob is NOT doing well, and can use help. Donations are good. We are ready to do such, but we need a better vehicle to do such. As you look into the post, I suggested a forum much as the successful 'Good Cause' auctions ave been utilized over on the USN forum. They have a good model and I would be happy to run this by any principal over there to make sure no one is accused of 'stealing'.

Basically one would post an item for auction with a closing time of, say 2-7 days from the time of posting. (No sniping allowed. auction extends each time there is a bid within five minutes of the closing time.) Buyer directs money to appropriate party and when notified, seller sends the item off to the buyer. Shipping is responsibility of the sender.

I foresee us having an ability to attract many hundreds of dollars for Bob, and in the future any other Worthy Cause we see fit. I know you would be behind this project, too.

What do you think? What do you need?

We would need someone to Moderate this, and as always, I would look into new blood. Regardless, I could help initiate this if needed.

Look it over, think what you would consider, and let us know, please? Would you be willing to moderate and assist in collection? I have to ask...

Thanks,

Coop
