KNET listed knife photos

When I see an especially good looking knife up in the advertising bar on the top and I click it it will bring me to the main listing page. Of course.

But.... what a great thing if it would bring me straight to the listed knife itself! I can't be alone in this.

Then again, milk is always in the BACK of the supermarket for a reason...

I'm with you on this one Jim.
I would love to see the knife that I clicked on. I do how ever understand what they ( TKN )
is doing.
But on the other hand I hate clicking on the knife then not being able to find it. So I have stopped trying to view the knives I see in the advertising bar.
Just my opinion, but I think it would be nice to see the knife you click on then have a link or some kind of option to see all the other advertised knives.
Darren

That's a lot harder than you think, actually. We are currently doing it with a stats application with the added twist that it only analyzes the last .jpg viewed and writes the image name to a top ten list. Depending on how we want to view it, we can rotate through the last 10 images viewed on the classifieds, organized by time. In most cases, we just want to see the last 1-4 viewed in sequence. Since the urls are relative in php, what you're talking about is a lot more difficult to write. Our immediate desire was to show forum visitors what was hot over there in the most simple way possible. We've got a lot of changes and improvements planned over time, so I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't readdress this script pretty soon.

One thing is for sure ... we're not playing any more!

ha ha, I have done the same thing more than once. There have been some really nice ones that needed a closer look.
