Texas knife organization?

Well guys, the TKCA is dead. Website is for vitamins or something now.

There has been some facebook chatter about starting a new Texas knife organization. Still in the informal "talk" stage.

Any of you guys interested? Would you join, or be willing to help organize?

What would you like to see out of a knife org in terms of services?

This thing is for real, folks. First official meeting was in Dallas in October. There are bylaws drafted. First annual meeting likely in January in Houston. State is divided into three regions, with regional reps on the state board. Search "Texas Knifemakers Guild" on facebook. So far there is a whole lot of facebook interaction. It will solidify as the regional organizations start to get together.

The Texas Knifemakers Guild is coming together. Join us on our facebook page: Texas Knifemakers Guild. We are really excited about this organization. The State of Texas will be divided into 3 regions. Each region will be responsible for placing 5 directors on the Board of Directors. Our goal is to perpetuate the art of knifemaking; to promote, expand and encourage an interest in knives and blades, to provide an educational forum for the exchange of ideas, techniques and innovations; to promote displays of individual works and collections; and to promote fellowship among individuals with an interest in knives. Come join us on our quest.
