Rick Bowles passed away last night of cardiac arrest

This was reported on FB. He was a senior RMK statesman, artisan, and collector, who was an associate to the Randall family and to RMKnives for decades. His artwork will live on as long as RMKs are collectable.

Because of his long-time relationship with the Randalls, over 40 years, he later helped define many mysteries such as the exact relationship of Randall Pistols to Randall knives. His contribution to the Randall collecting world was immense.

I always respected and liked Rick. A gentleman and a RMK scholar. RIP Mr. Bowles.

I'm very sorry to learn of Rick's passing. My condolences go out to his family and all those in the Randall community.

Rick was truly a passionate man who loved Randall knives. He was an extremely talented scrimshander whose artistry brought great pleasure to so many RMK enthusiasts. His embellishments added much to these already incredible blades.

Rick will be missed.

Dave

I had many conversations with Rick over the years and felt honored that he would spend time with me. His knowledge of Randalls and personality were as consummate as his scrim talent. If there were a Mount Rushmore of Randalls greats, his bust would be up there. RIP Sir.
