Thanks Tune, me too about the older, but every now and then you come across a newer one with stag (to quote mhwwlmc - "been blessed by the stag gods") that's hard to let go, for me, that newer 3-7 I just posted is on my never sell until I start eating dog food list.

BH,

Here is a Heiser 3-7 sheath from the same era. I can't tell any difference in profile between this one and yours.

Pinned ivory, and what a beaut. I would have used this as the base knife in the model 3 timeline in the Delrin handle line. I'm really getting to like hunters with that gracefull blade, the prettiest Randall of all.

Miniature Model 3

This one is from the John Cheek collection. I'm sure that the pic will be upside down once I hit the "submit" button!

Well, I've never seen a 3-4 and am surprised it has seven spacers with Micarta... very nice knife, cool, ... and Bill's mini is also new to me. The detail is fine, wish the pic had a reference for size... quarter, or dollar bill or something, but the knife is so finally done it is hard to tell it is a mini.

Ron (BoBLade) has the deepest trunk and nicest collection of model 3s that I know about. He has posted some of them in the "Magic Randall" thread, more in the "Delrin" thread. They are well worth a look. Nice knives my friends... ciao

Thanks, Jack. I'll post pics of a few others here soon. Meanwhile, I believe that the 3-4 belonged to Dubie Baxter (I don't forget a knife like that).

Best,

Ron

Thanks, Gibbs!

Here are a few pics of my collection.

I usually take crappy pics, but this one turned out better than I anticipated:

This is not my pic, but it's one of my favorite knives: A rare early WWII Hiunter grind:

How about a Model 3 with an 8 1/2" blade or a Model 3 with a 3" blade?

Early (~1964) examples of Tom Leschorn's work:

Bill Platt's personal 3-7:

A piece I picked up at Blade last year (Mint):

A piece I recently picked up from Steve Zimmerman (Mint):

Fantastic knives, Ron!

I never get tired of seeing your collection.

You're number three!

Cheers!

David

Here is my latest Model 3-6. Pinned stag with finger-grooves, and nickel silver hilt. Just love these old stag hunters.
