Lucky Randall Find

I just picked up a box of old tools for a bargain $50. I got a good deal all round, but this knife caught my attention, more for the home made sheath than what was in it.

When I got the box home, I pulled out the knife and saw that what I had bought was a Randall 3 or 4 with a 7 inch blade. Can anyone confirm this? Any idea of how to date it?

Its been suggested to me that trying to refurbish this knife myself if likely far beyond my skill level and i should send it back to Randall to bring it back to condition. Does anyone know ballpark what Randall are likely to charge.

Thanks for any info.

Eire

Welcome. It's a Model 4-7 from the 60's. Go on the Randall website to find the refurbishing charge. Worse case place a call to the Shop.

Regards,

Ron

If you send it to the shop they'll give you a quote after reviewing the knife.
Turn around time use to be pretty good[2-3 weeks] but with Covid it'll most likely be longer.

There is a history of use on that blade. Oil it, use it, and continue the story.

I'm surprised to see the solder cracked. This knife has been abused. $50? Oh, man, you won the lotto on this one!
