Here is the plans I used.
http://www.dfoggknives.com/PDF/GrinderPlans.pdf

Great set of plans but the tension spring location is incorrect. This is the only problem I had and it really is a minor issue. Perhaps it has been corrected since I built one.
Overall the plans are very thou and easy to read.
I would highly recommend that you use cold-rolled steel and NOT hot-rolled steel. The scale on the hot rolled will make for many problems in your build.

If you have any questions with these plans feel-free to contact me, I would be happy to share any information I have with this build.

Brett

Yup.. I'm gonna go with that.
USA Knifemaker has decent prices on drive wheels, idlers, and belt wheels.
Seeing 2hp motors all over eBay but need an education on that before I buy.

IIRC, the Grizzly wheel has a metric diameter hole for the drive shaft. Depending on how you plan to use it, you might need some shims to fit it to a 1/2" shaft, or some machine work to get bearings to fit.

NJ,
What size is the hole? When I tried to get info from Grizzly, I ended up more confused than before the call.
Thanks,
Fred

10ees,
I had the same problem with that misalignment, but as you mentioned it was minor.
I have changed over to this- a gas strut-
