Got to visit Gene....

I had gone on a marathone trip for me yesterday. I had run a few hawks and a bunch of knives up to Blade Gallery in Kirkland, Wa. and then up to Kingston to visit Gene for a bit after a $9.50 ferry ride. If was good finally meeting Gene and his fly press. Gene's got quite a menagerie of tools. Wish I would have had more time to spend with him but I do see another trip in the future. I did find his pick up trap at the end of his driveway but I won't go there at this time. If any of you fellows get up that way it would be well worth you time to visit Gene. Just wish I wasn't so beat when I did. After 420 miles and 14 hours I was well spent. Gene, it was good to finally meet you... Ray

Nice meeting you too, Ray., enjoyed your visit. You ever get back up here I'll break out the basment collection of forged stuff and tooling, forge some iron too.

Ray played with the fly press then gave him the $2 tour of the shop, that dosen't take long for the surburban smithy.

Took some photos this morning, fly press stuff, will post on a new thread.
