Making a spring help needed.
A friend asked me to make a spring that is the hammer spring for a small single shot derringer he broke. I have one he made that is an exact copy that lost its temper when he made it. Its .187 wide and made from .03 steel. Its only a couple inches long. Can I just find some spring type steel .03 thick and cut it o .187 wide, bend it to shape and the HT it to spring temper ?
