This mythology was brought to our North...

American shores by the Fon people of West Africa during the slavery times:
They believed a devine blacksmith named Gu taught the first humans how to forge tools so that they might work the land. Gu was the fifth born child of Mauli-Lisa, the West African Creator God. Her gift to Gu was strength - the strength of iron, and the knowledge of that strength in the form of its forging. The shared origins of forged tools and forged weapons caused Gu to eventually be interpreted as the Fon God of War but Gu's greatest legacy was teaching the people to forge. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

That is a provocative story, Buddy, and I really like your photographic interpretation. Makes one wonder...

...then Budee, the god of images, captured the face and work of Gu with his light painting, immortalizing his memory for all time...

Re: mythology

Intresting creation story. Many people don't know that many African nations smelted iron and made steel before the Great White Bwana came along. That art was largely lost because it became easier and cheaper to trade for it than make it.

Hey Buddy, flattery will get you nowhere.

Iron Man Lyrics
Artist: Black Sabbath
Album: Paranoid

...I AM IRON MAN...

Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?
Can he walk at all,
Or if he moves will he fall?
Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?
We'll just pass him there
why should we even care?

He was turned to steel
in the great magnetic field
Where he travelled time
for the future of mankind

Nobody wants him
He just stares at the world
Planning his vengeance
that he will soon unfold

Now the time is here
for Iron Man to spread fear
Vengeance from the grave
Kills the people he once saved

Nobody wants him
They just turn their heads
Nobody helps him
Now he has his revenge

Heavy boots of lead
fills his victims full of dread
Running as fast as they can
Iron Man lives again!
