Knife identification
Simple, but well crafted and perfectly balanced boot knife. Guard and Hilt also made of grey coloured lightweight, smooth, and study material. Blade reads "Rattler I" on one side. 440 stainless, jk-403 at bottom of blade on one side, and on the opposite SAB made in japan.
I am curious as to the origins/story/value of this knife. I am new to the field as well, so if someone could take time to explain what "SAB", "jk-403", and how to discern whether the steel is 440 A, B, or C - it would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by TheHPL; 06-19-2013 at 09:26 AM. |

Looks like a knock off of the Gerber Guardian.
