Randy this one's for you....

As some may know over the last couple of years we've been using braintan buckskin for our frontier pieces, including all of the CactusRose pieces, supplied by Randy Skidmore. Now the "deal" was in return Randy would get a frontier style sheath from us......
Well Randy, being WAY too modest 8o , kept hemming and hawing about sending a knife "worthy" of one of our sheaths, so..........

Apropos of the "spirit" of my fellow NTM'ers, the blade I received in trade from Richard Mize aka Foxcreek Forge - I added the file work and the etch and then hafted it - it's mule deer antler with cast pewter bolster and file worked buttcap.
Once finished I realized that I wasn't sure which hand Randy used - well turns out he's ambidextrous and likes to carry a knife for a left hand draw - serendipitously the handle fits either hand fine with a bit of a preference for the left hand....

Anway..............Randy this one's for you..
P.S. - the sheath is in the works......

Wild Rose Trading Co - Handcrafted Knife Sheaths

The beautiful sheaths created for storing the knife elevate the knife one step higher. It celebrates the knife it houses.

Chuck! WOW!
You honor me, my friend.

Just seeing my attempts at braintan being used in such wonderful sheaths was payment enough.

I plan on doing some more barktan this fall and hopefully will be able to send you a token of appreciation.
(still got the other braintan to send out... sometimes ya gotta jog my memory!)

Thanks!!!

Randy
