Amboyna burl
Amboyna Burl from a batch I just had stablized by WSSI. I intentionally worked in some bark inclusions for a little more character. This one has an 8" hollow grind blade that is 5 1/4" long from tip to bolster and is 9 1/2" OAL. CPM154 mirrored all the way. I did the heat treat and cryo. The bolster has finger relief sculpted in both sides and has a concave back side. I'm sending this one off to Sandy Morrissey for a basket weave sheath. Thanks for looking...

thanks Joe. I'm bringing this one to Blade and since I am going to hang out at your table and call that home base while I'm there....would you engrave while we are at the show?

That is a very attractive knife. I really like the color of the burl. The handle shape sort of reminds me of an early Gerber folder. If they had looked that good they would probably still be making them.

Tracy,
Thats a beautiful knife. I have a piece of amboyna burl. How did you finish yours in this pic? Any thing special? Ive been using curly maple, and there are a few steps to get to the look i was wanting, and ive never worked amboyna burl, so i dont know if there is series of steps to get the look you have you this knife.
