Tormek for grinding?

I've been using a 2x42 belt grinder for making my blades with reasonable results. I also have a Tormek that I use mainly for sharpening.

Somewhere in my browsing the internet I saw where someone was using a Tormek with the black wheel to grind the blades.

Has anyone done this? Is it even practical?

Thanks!

I've not done it, but I've seen those machines close up, and personally, I think it would be highly impractical to attempt grinding out a knife on one.

Compared to a "good" 2x72" machine, I would think it would be painfully slow and awkward.

Thanks!

Kinda what I thought but I didn't want to invest $100+ in the black stone if it wasn't a practical operation.

I have a Tormek T4 (the smaller unit). Great for sharpening but would take forever to grind a blade. The RPM of the machine is around 250 and in sharpening it only removes a small amount of material. I would be very impractical.
