Giant switchblade

I just obtained an ASTOR switchblade that measures just over 36" in length fully opened... It is made exactly like my smaller one... Anybody know the story on this thing? Thanks

If you can post pictures, I can probably tell you as much as anyone can.

Monster 37 inch switchblade

Yes... I am quite certain this is an Italian picklock manufactured in Italy.... possibly by Latama. It was made as a display knife for use in retail knife shops. More exact information may be obtained by contacting the Latama Knifeworks here: www.latama.net/the Newsletter. Or go to the Latama website. On the left hand side of the site you will find a link for copies, old backissues of the newsletter. The issue you are looking for is a backissue... Latama ... The Newsletter Volume 8 number one. It is listed as available on their website... left side of page... scroll down... you will see it listed there and mentions a 36-1/2 inch "displaypicklock" I believe this newsletter will answer your questions... but you will have to purchase a copy of it. HAPPY COLLECTING... flickman. PS. FEEL FREE TO HIT ME BACK ON THIS. Mike. te in

Your knife wasn't made by Latama. Many of the display knives were made by Venier.

Giant switchblade

Hi Bill, when I saw your name on this forum... I was quite pleasantly surprised. I have 6 of your pretty little leverlettos. And a great deal of respect for you! Nice! Bill, I have email from Walter Halucha, regarding this knife. Can you please tell me how to post photographs on this website? If I could figure this out I believe we can stop the controversy once and for all. I have photographs from Walter that I believe will confirm that Latama did actually make this knife if I can figure out how to post these pictures maybe you can help me with this.

Bill, please excuse me. But I am new to this forum. Just learning. I am trying to post a photograph of the knife in question right now. Wish me luck!

What do pictures of Walter's knife have to do with your knife? Walter's knife was made by Venier for Latama. Latama was an importer.
The Latama display knife looks nothing like an Astor stiletto.
Send your pictures to billdeshivs@billdeshivs.com and I'll post them for you.
