My First Bowie knife.

Hi all

This is my first attempt to make a Bowie knife and I thing it went very well...

5 mm 01Steel, Blade length 220mm, and 37mm at the widest point.
Tel me what you think.

Thanks for looking!

I have started to give shape to the handle; i decide to put a box elder burl and a stainless pin.

I have give shape to the handle and fit all the parts, now i have to clean and polish the blade and pout everything back together and at last have to make a sheath for it.

That's very nice. For your first I would say WELL DONE! The finish on the blade is very good and overall shape works well. I can't tell from the pictures but am wondering how the top of the handle matches the top of the blade. If they are level then you nailed it. If not then I would take a little off the handle until they do match.

Thanks for sharing.

Gary

I'm with Gary, it looks to me the handle is a bit wider than the ricasso, and this throws off the aesthetics just a bit. Other than that you have done a great job.
