I am in!

I am in! My name is Dan Frazee, I am a part time maker and am going to make a couple of really big cutting comp blades. They should be great for camp knife I am thinking about either D2 or O6 for the steel. What do you think? I haven't done one of these in quite a while and have been missing it. Just don't tell my wife, or don't let me whine about not getting stuff done. Dan

How about the axe from Frazetta's Death Dealer?

Might be handy around the campfire...

Ah, but Jody Sampson's already done it, it just wouldn't be the same... http://filmswords.com/frazetta/dealeraxe.htm

i spent most of the day forging a 3 part composite billet for this project, camp knife/competition cutter is easy assasin is a bit tougher--even did a search for
assasin knives mostly what i seen was fantasy type stuff- just couldnt see an
assasin carrying that type of blade i see an assasin carrying a stealthy type
blade such as 7in dagger- i dont do daggers everytime i try it winds ups in the trash
so im still undecided at this point. what do you guys picture as assasin knifeware??
bruce

You could go ninja with a tanto, or european with a stiletto, or middle-eastern with something curvy....

To me, a jambiya would be perfect, except for the double-edged part... might not be a good idea to go with a double-edged blade due to some states frowning on them, and I can't bear the idea of making one single-edged... so my jambiya project will have to wait for another time.

Camping sax?

I'm thinking about it.

I haven't been in the shop for a while due to assorted issues, mostly the temperature of the garage.

I'm thinking about going with a more standard Loveless model that I've bee playing around with. You guys won't mind if it is a little dressy would you? Let me check things out in the shop.

By the way Andy I will be swinging through your region on my way home from the Ren Fair in Bonner Springs Labor Day weekend as part of our whirlwind tour. It starts in Dallas than to Memphis, to Columbus up to the far north Canadian border of NY State for a couple days with her parents. Than it is through Canada (the land of my ancestors) to Detroit for a couple of days with my parents. Than we head to KCK for the Ren Fair (with kilt of course) than back to Dallas.

Jim
