Antler

So, at 45 years of age, I took my first buck this year--a smallish deer with a small rack.

While I would not characterize myself as a trophy hunter, I wish to commemorate the event by using the small crown of one of the antlers as a knife handle.

How long should I allow the antler to season, and in what conditions?

I have used antler for other things and I believe you could use it now. It has been seasoning from spring until now. Ed

Andy I don't know if it is the end of the cycle but the measuring requirement is a 60 day period. It should have shrunk all it will by that time.
