Very nice job, Dave. I don't know how much you saved by doing that yourself, but I know the JL grinder of that type is pretty close to $3000.

Thanks Don,I have about $100 for the 1/2 hp motor, about $100 for the Bader wheels(2",1"and 1/2") and about $50 for assorted electrical and hardware items. The steel and aluminum are scrap from work. This grinder is great for all those little curves and really cuts down the time.It uses a 1"x 42" belt .Dave

The double disks....

Do the double-disks spin in opposite directions? Going to try flat-grinding on it [them]? My mind is going a hundred miles an hour....

Thanks for sharing!

Re: The double disks....

Each motor of the dual disc sander is independent of the other ,both are reversible( note lower switches). The disc's are from Sheffeild's with 5/8"particle board and 1/4" micarta glued on.The micarta is slightly tapered.Micarta makes changing disc's easy and I keep coarse on one and fine on the other.I do use these for flat grinds among other things.Dave
