O Canada !!

Just thought I'd take a quick moment to introduce myself as well....

I started making knives ( in kit forms ) about 10 years ago and then was slightly sidetracked by marriage and children !!! This past summer we sold all our quarterhorses and for the time in 18 winters I found myself with some spare time. So I pulled out my old tools , bought a couple more , ordered some steel, some goodies and low and behold I am on knife #8 this winter.

I have found many great people in my general area (fellow knifemakers) that have gone over and above in the help dept and have encouraged me to persue what I've always known I wanted to continue on with, and thats building knives. Thanx to the many great posts on this forum along with some real standup guys that have taught me so much in such a short period of time, thanks to many of you, I appreciate your input and expertise.

Looking forward to many more posts in the future.

All the best
Rob

Yes, that's right. I'm between Tonasket and Republic and 10 miles off of Hwy 20, about 16 miles from the Canadian border as the crow flies....

(See kiddies, that's why you should fill out your profile completely)

Hey, Rob,
I got family in Kelowna. I'm up that way at least twice a year. maybe we can hook up some time. Always eager to meet fellow knife makers!

Addicting it is... I'll consider myself a newbie for a long time yet. I simply don't have enough time to become "fluent" at this - takes me an average of a month to make one knife... Good thing I don't depend on making a living at it.

Hey Rob! Welcome to the forum! I'm right next door in Alberta.

Just to let you know, another fellow Canuck named Jim Clow in Tilley, Alberta will be hosting a hammer-in this June. I attended last year. It was super! Some really stellar knife makers came out to demonstrate and teach. You might want to take it in if you have the time. Have fun with the knife making!
