Putting Tai to the test
I picked up a knife from Tai. I figured it looks good enough, but I intend to use this one for some very rough work. I decided to put it to the test.
It arrived sharp. It passed the paper cut test the first try. Now let's see if it is tough. I hit it HARD. I wanted to see if the edge would chip, if the handle would bend, or if the handle wrappings would give. It all worked without flaw. I studied the edge and there was so noticeable difference. It still shaves. I have to say this blade passed. |

Thank Tim! Glad that it worked out for you.
How did you like the "feel" and balance when you were cutting? |

It's a bigger knife than the pictures make it appear. The handle is a bit longer than usual. If I grip up toward the guard it feels like a good camp/survival knife. If I grip more toward the back it feels and chops like a stout machette. It will work perfectly for the planned tasks. It even passed the paper cut test again after the 2 X 4 cut.
I thought that I processed all four of the photos the same, I don't know why they are different sizes. Last edited by Tim Crocker; 04-30-2006 at 09:29 PM. |

Sweet! That's what I love most--a knife that not only looks great but works well too--and will be used, not set on a wall or in a case. Very nice. Thanks for posting that Tim. Todd

Congratulation Tim.
I had the chance to handle that one and it is really nice. I truly like the long handle for getting the max out of that one, plus it is super comfortable in the hand. Don Carlos |
