Cheap(er) gas prices

My wife just filled her van for $2.06/gallon!

It probably won't last but for now, "Happy days are here again......"

What are prices in your necks of the woods?

$2.53 in Anniston, AL. Last night, I took my girlfriend to the Neil Diamond concert in Atlanta and noticed $2.39 in the western regions, outside of Atlanta.

Okay folks, if you were up here on a visit you would pay today for a US Gallon of regular petrol in your American green backsl: $3.09

How did I figure that out since we use litres and our dollar has a different value? Trust me.

No here's how:

1 U.S. Gallon = 3.785411784 Litres

I litre of gas was selling today for CDN $0.954 in our neck of the woods, which was equal to US $0.815663 at this moment.

Now you do the math.

Now when I fill up, I'm not

Cheers!

Moosehead

Most of the refineries and pipelines are back on-line after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Also, the summer driving season is over, so consumption drops. (Refineries are shifting to fuel oil.)

There are still quite a few oil rigs in the Gulf that are out of commission (or just plain missing!) and a couple of refineries shut down.

If the conversion table on my phone is correct, 1 gallon sells for ZAR 19.077468 (R 5.04 per litre) in the east of RSA. I guess that's approximately $2.864485.

$2.479 in Deep East Texas today.

More oil has been pumped out of this county (4th smallest in Texas) than any county in the U.S.A. including Alaska (of course) and it is refined into gasoline here in D.E.T. too!

So why is Jerry getting it for $0.419 less?!?
