It's under the workshop link above.
http://www.knifenetwork.com/workshop...l_cowles.shtml The require special settings though & are a bit of an up front investment. Jim __________________ I cook with a flair for the dramatic, and depraved indifference to calories |

Man you guys are scarring me with all this talk about inlaying gem stones and diamonds. I was just thinking how it is going to be jsut to put a knife together that some of you would even like to have much less carry. Yall sure can put the pressure on a guy.

Do we need to, or can we post our design drafts for input and suggestions?

Wow, this is getting bigger and better! I must admit, like Wade, I'm a bit intimidated after looking at the line up. I'll try to post pics along the way so you guys can kick me out early if necessary. Jim, don't worry - my skills have improved since the last KITH where you were the unlucky b@$#ard that got my pointy metal thing that somewhat resembled a knife - I actually have a real grinder now. I think I'll start this weekend so I can get all my mistakes out of the way early.

Steve, I just meant you make nicer knives than me, if you're question was for me. I think posting your design for comments and suggestions is a fine idea.

Dave,
There is nothing wrong with that knife. It cuts things, a lot of things in my kitchen. It holds a good edge and sharpens well. I use it all the time. What more do you need from a knife? I'm glad to have it. Jim __________________ I cook with a flair for the dramatic, and depraved indifference to calories |

This is my design. This one came faster than most--I was in a very creative mood yesterday!
Persian style, born of 1095 with an edge-hugging hamon. I'm leaning toward very black buffulo horn with a minimum of streaking. Nothing polishes better than buffulo horn, PERIOD! The pins will be SS with a nice cubic Zirconia mounted there at the back. A slim two panel sheath with some simple edge tooling dyed solid black will reveal only the knob at the end with the stone. 3.25" tip to choil as the crow flys--6.25" OA Whadaya think? __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |

Love the design, were you thinking liner lock? I think the blade length may be too long for the handle. What does it look likr with a shorter blade or longer handle. It changes the proportions significantly. Steve __________________ Stephen Vanderkolff Please come on over and check out my website. http://www.vanderkolffknives.com/ Thanks |

I'm guessing he intended this one to be a full-tang, non-folding knife, Steve.
Andy--great design! Nathan |
