Ti Al Ni alloy

When I was a kid I remember reading about a new "super" alloy made of Ti, Al and Ni for use in the Aerospace industry. I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this, or even if anyone has worked with it.

I guess the answer is, "no."

I seem to remember something about this as well, but my guess is that it is a superalloy for its strength qualities and is likely not hard enough for a knife edge.

Super Alloy

I recall that Rob Simonich was working with someone to develop a Ti-Talonite combination alloy for knife blades. What ever became of that?
