Russlock/Trapper
Here is something a little different that I just completed for a customer. It's kind of a cross between a Case Russlock and a Trapper pattern. The locking mechanism is based on an old 1906 patent.
More information about this knife can be found HERE. - chris |

I dont mean to high jack your thread but i assume you jigged the bone on that knife like you did in your tutorial. What bit are you using in the dremel to do that. By the way that is a great looking blade.

Hello Viper, Welcome to the forums.
The jigged bone on this knife was actually purchased from the Mother of Pearl company, but you can get it from most knifemaking supply companies. I purchase it in sets of scales measuring 1" x 3" x 1/8". It comes already died, so you just order it in the color you want it. I do jig my own bone from time to time like I did in the tutorial. For this I use a dremel carving bit. I'm not sure of the exact number of the one I have, but I believe it's like the one in the link below: http://www.dremel.com/productdisplay...4&Color=009999 Thanks -chris |
