Anyone made somthing like this

http://www.covecutlery.com/Category.cfm?CategoryID=161
And if so, how would i go about doing it. Like where can i get the blade/mechanism, or do i have to make them myselft? Im not looking to make a duplicate, just somthing in that style, with the pattern on the back.

the mechanism appears to be internationally patented,so i would suggest NOT trying to copy it. otherwise the knife is a basic friction folder with filework on the spring. use the blue search button and look up filework and friction folder. also there are tutorials for both in the tutorial section.

To answer your question directly: yes, you would have to make the parts yourself. As Shakudo said, it appears to be a common slip joint folder and there are plenty of books and tutorials on building them. The pattern on the back is just file work and there are tutorials for that as well.

You can also buy slip joint folder kits from any knife supply house. That would be the best way to see how they work internally and get some experience putting them together.....
