gator belts
I`m looking foe input on these belts and how they`re graded as grit size. Thanks Robert

Check with POP'sknife supply he will have all the info. on grit.
I used my frist one yestday it is something like a 320 . I liked the way it cut . |

They use the European grading system. Pops or True Grit can tell you the grit equivalence. I'm using A45 which is about 400 grit. They are available in 80, 120, 220, and 400 grits.
They last a very long time and they are tough belts. The important thing to know about them is that they are FINISHING belts only! They DO NOT remove metal worth a darn, not even the 80 grit belts. They will remove a few thousandths but no way are you going to hog metal to shape a blade with these belts.... |

I agree with Ray on the hogging capabiltities.My cubitrons cut better.The gators do leave a nice finish even in 80 grit.I wont order more though. i like my klingsplores better and their better priced.
