Liquid Nitrogen Dewar
So, I am looking for an affordable dewar so I can do some cryo work on my high alloy stainless stuff.
How wide are the necks on those things? They look very narrow--perhaps too much so for some of my designs. __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |

Andy depending on bottle ,they go from 2 1/4 inches up to 3inches on the larger dewars.

They aren't cheap, for sure. You probably don't need more than a 20ltr unless you are planning on doing a lot of blades.
Be careful when purchasing a used one. they are insulated in part by a vacuum like a thermos. They can loose the vacuum by being moved around in a truck or just being generally abused. They are repairable, but it isn't cheap to have them sent of and the vacuum redone. |

Cool. 2 1/4" will work for pretty much everything in my current design portfolio.
I will probably choose new based on that vacuum info (which I did not know). Thanks.

Also keep in mind the lid has a foam piece that extends down into the dewar. It's usually 6" long.
