The Yin/Yang Paper Cut

For this cut, I bent over two sheets of paper lengthwise and folded the corners to hold the loops. I balanced them opposing each other on the edge of a table...

The object of this cut is to have the top of one piece land on the bottom of the other, and the other two pieces land on the floor, with just one whack.

That's a kitchen knife I made Julie about 10 years ago, I made the cut with.

It looks like a penguin.

I cleaved what I wanted to cleave the way I wanted to cleave it.

It happened so fast!

Looking at the pictures now, I think the top of the same piece, the one in the back, landed on the bottom of itself.

It was either that, or the top piece of the front one spun clean around!

... Oh well, back to the honing stone.

?Cleave it!?

They told him don't you ever come around here
Don't wanna see your face, you better disappear
The fire's in their eyes and their words are really clear
So cleave it, just cleave it

You better run, you better do what you can
Don't wanna see no blood, don't be a macho man
You wanna be tough, better do what you can
So cleave it, but you wanna be bad

Just cleave it, cleave it, cleave it, cleave it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just cleave it, cleave it
Just cleave it, cleave it
Just cleave it, cleave it
Just cleave it, cleave it

They're out to get you, better leave while you can
Don't wanna be a boy, you wanna be a man
You wanna stay alive, better do what you can
So cleave it, just cleave it

You have to show them that you're really not scared
You're playin' with your life, this ain't no truth or dare
They'll kick you, then they beat you,
Then they'll tell you it's fair
So cleave it, but you wanna be bad

Just cleave it, cleave it, cleave it, cleave it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just cleave it, cleave it
Just cleave it, cleave it
Just cleave it, cleave it
Just cleave it, cleave it
