John...
I'm still in awe staring at your photo. Something is terribly wrong.... After 10 minutes I finally figure it out. WHERE THE HECK IS ALL THE SNOW? Dennis |

Snow's gone. This is the banana belt of Montana. Thought I was gonna have to run through the sprinkler today to keep cool.

That's a good one John! I agree! Generally I put my longjohns on in October, and don't stop wearing them until May.......it's been in the 50s here for a week now!

I agree with Bing, Steve. That first folder looks like it needs some TLC at the Hackney house .
BTW: Ed, I took your advice and got off the satchel butt (happens when you go over the hill and have had a desk job for years ) and did some more shop time. Here are a couple of blades I just did the initial grind on. I think they'll eventually get some amber died stag handles. They look like second rate units when compared to Bing's but, hey, at least I've been working . Dana |

Heres what I've been working on this weekend: __________________ WWW.CAFFREYKNIVES.NET Caffreyknives@gmail.com "Every CHOICE has a CONSEQUENCE, and all your CONSEQUENCES are a result of your CHOICES." Last edited by Ed Caffrey; 12-08-2012 at 07:31 PM. |

Really like those, Ed. What woods are the two middle ones-Redwood burl and a spalted Maple...or something?

From left to right........ Blackwood, Maple Burl, Spalted Birch, Blackwood.
I'll get pics of the entire knife when they're finished, but again left to right the blades are: Mosaic/1084, and the other three are 1084. (To me the interesting part is the guards......I ran out of Nickel Silver, so I put Bronze on two of them.....I think a satin finished bronze guard looks kinda classy. Was checking on the price of Nickel silver yesterday........ Holy Guard Material Batman! The cheapest place I could find was my normal source (Jatz)...but even there it's up to $26 a foot for 3/8"x3/4"! __________________ WWW.CAFFREYKNIVES.NET Caffreyknives@gmail.com "Every CHOICE has a CONSEQUENCE, and all your CONSEQUENCES are a result of your CHOICES."
