New Mosaic Hunter

I figured that since John is being so prolific, I'd best get busy and post a knife.

Just finished this one yesterday. Multi-bar Mosaic Damascus blade is 4" long, Carved Nickel silver guard, with nickel silver spacers, and a real nice piece of stabilized Koa given to my by my dear friend Dana Hackney (thanks Dana!)

Thumbs up Sweet!

Hey Ed,

That's a great combination of mosaic and koa. Gosh, how come I can't get my koa handles to finish out like that. That is some really tight fiddleback and it looks 10 feet deep. How many layers of try oil did it take to get it there?

That one's not going to last long.

Dana

That's 15 coats of Tru-oil......took over two days to do that to the handle......but it's worth it!

I took the Koa to 1200 grit, then steel wooled it, air hosed it off well, then started putting coats of Tru-oil on it about every two hours, with a steel wool scrub in between coats. Finished it off with a VERY light buff on a brand new loose muslin wheel......then wax the snot outta it.

I love it Ed. Your mosaic damascus is always a treat to look at. The rest of the knife is nice and clean and looks like a classic hunter. And that is a great piece of koa.

Hi Pete!

Yep, it's still here! I've actually not put it up for sale yet....need to build a sheath. Hopefully I can get a sheath done this week, it will be up for sale on my website next week.
