Question Tactical sheath belt loop/clip thingy...

I've been considering making a few tactical type knives for some of my friends in the military. I want to make Kydex sheaths for the knives, but I'm pretty fuzzy on the best belt loop or clip to use on the sheaths.

How do the military folks attatch things to their web belts? What do I need to put on the sheath to make it possible for them to wear the knives on their belts? Any pictures I could look at?

Thanks.

Thanks Chuck, but I'm not sure how they would attach to a Kydex sheath. I had in mind something like I've seen on Jens Anso's Kydex sheaths. If that's what they use, that's what I'll have to go with.

Jamie, Of course you've seen this tut. Why not use this basic plan and design your own?
Be sure and post a pic when you have done all the hard work so i can take credit for giving you the idea.

After looking a little more closely at the Tek-Lok system on some sites about gun holsters, I really like the system. I'm thinking the best thing may be to give the option of the Tek-Lok or a simple J-clip. Make them interchangeable so te end user can decide which to use at any particular time. The one downfall I could see to the Tek-Lok system is that you have to be wearing a belt to use it. With a J-clip, you don't necessarily need a belt.

Tek-loks are good for military knives.....and you can just remove it and ad a j-loop if you wish. I personally prefer haviing a loop that is closed. I make my own and prefer them for their looks mostly.....tekloks and easyer to put on the belt wth out opening the belt...but then again I don?t take my knife on and of all the time........but some likes to have a clip like thingy...just made one for a chef......folded a piece of .080 kydex so it would be stronger and made a very tight clip for one of my Nasty Neckers...gonna carry it in his apronpocket.

Thanks, Jens. I've about decided to supply both the Tek-Lok and the J-Clip, and now I think I'll throw in a closed loop as well.
