Folding flint striker knife

This was an experiment

Folding Flint Striker Knife, the scrolled finger loop is used when flint striking or when cutting.

Forged 15n20/1084 1 3/8 inch blade, 3 1/2 inches folded, 6 inches overall when open, 1018 64 gauge sides, simple scroll engraved, the smallest scroll is timed to the stop pin so it won't swing all the way through, the stop pin also hits the back of the striker to keep it from opening to far.

Closed

Open in the hand

It Sparks!!

thanx for looking,

Rik

Rik:

I don't know much about "Flint Striker" knives, but I do know that you never cease to amaze me with your work.

That one is just as neat as a "Sunday-go-to-meeting suit".

Thanks for sharing.

Robert

thanx

Thanx Jerry, Jon, Don, Robert, David!

I appreciate it!

I was going to use peened pins but wanted to make sure the timing work and I could take it apart and adjust it. I could go back now and pin it but maybe I should just decorate the screw heads with some file work?

thanx again
Rik

As a die hard lover of flintlock muzzleloading rifles, that is one awesome patch cutter/ flint napping tool, Now if there was a way to incorporate a vent pick into it, it would be perfect..Great job..
