folder design

How do you make a folder like this without having blade back end not stick out the front when closed ? What type of pivot system is used ? Its a frame lock. I want to make something similar but trying to engineer the pivot and draw it. Mine wont be a frame lock though. This thing is SICK !

thanks
Dave

I borrowed this pic from another site but I dont know who made it. Sorry for the no credit given. CQCbaldes is the owner of the pics.

Yes. Its a Jim Smyth Hell Razor. I found WIP pics and shows its a arch pivot ( dont know the correct terminology ) . So now I have to ask how do you design the arch and cut it without fancy tools ? I have a mini mill but no jig to do such a arch . And..Im not very mill savy

If you're talking about a "hidden stop pin", I think I recall seeing a rough tutorial on how to cut one, but I can't recall who posted it.

Essentially, I would assume you could just make a jig with a fixed pivot point that fits into the center pivot hole on your blade, and set your mill up so that the end mill is the proper distance from this center pivot. You could then rotate the blade in this pivot by hand and cut/drill your arc as needed.

Not sure if that makes sense....
