Looking for Canadian Suppliers
Hi Everone.
First off, I've got my one and two brick forges running and I've been working with rebar which is spotty at best. I've been looking for Canadian companies that sell small quantities of bar stock like 1050, 1075 etc and also a place that sells Satanite refractory. I have not problem buying American but the shipping and Import charges double the price of anything. Either there are no Canadian companies or they don't have websites. Are there any Canadian knifemakers out there that could help? Thanks for any help. |

good day
if you want to forge and not buy from the states you are limited in the steel you can buy. o1 is easy to find and you can get 5160 from a spring shop. if you live near the border you can get a po box and bring it across they don't often make you pay duty on steel that is what i do. david __________________ David Sylvester |

Thanks beast.
I guess I'll get my order in to Admiral Steel and just be thankful I'm not paying for shipping to Australia like some of the others on here. You'd think that maybe a Canadian Knifemaking group would buy bulk and sell it to members or something. If anyone else in Canada is on here and would like to start talking about forming a buying group that might be the start of something. Just an idea, I don't even know yet how bad the customs charges would be. |

jeff diotte sells steel and supplies and is the best guy to deal with great service. but he said their is not much of a demand for carbon steel. their are not as many forging compared to stock removal. if you find a place in canada for carbon steel let us know
thanks david __________________ David Sylvester |
