Good work Little Brother!
I've been toting and using mine for everthing (you know the kind of testing I do with things). Working just fine, bit big for the pocket but I needed new jeans anyways (;p>
Guess I could hob me up a pouch sheath like RLo's to tote it in.
I did bling it up just a bit for grins, but wanted you to know it's doing hard duty with no ill effects.
When you going to give me one of them runts to test out? Need a good "Sunday-goto-meeting" knife.
Is that some of the ipe on the second two?

Really good work there, John! Nice designs and well thought out. Anybody would be happy with one of their own. The friction folder is a very handy style of knife. I've been carrying one for 7-8 yrs. now and totally appreciate how you can open it with one hand when needed. Can't do that with a "typical" folder and it's surprised me how often the one hand comes into play.

Now. Brother Carl, you can't just "hob up" a sheath like mine. You gotta dig deep down into the bottom reaches of the scrap leather box for just the right piece, then slop some dye on it for the best effect, carefully sew and leave the little hole for the tang. The crowning item is the Dollar Store one way snap finished in a muted gold color. Aw, go ahead and make one. Imitation is the best form of appreciation!
See ya
RLo

Now RLo..........you know I can't just stop with fido's butt......if it's gonna show, IT'S gonna show!
Besides I don't know what "scrap" is, must be something like "extra" money.
Ever tried imitation halibut? Not so flattering.

Messinwidyabro!

JC - meant to mention it works great for bustin open those stubborn pistachios too.

I can always count on my two older brothers for comments. BB, that is the ipe wood on the second two. I made one about the size of the osage one Sat. , used the ipe with a black locas spacer, no liner. I think I'll tote this one for a while.

I probably got a few more thin slabs of the blacklocust out in the firewood pile. I know I have plenty of burl maple. When I get around to cutting up the next BL stump I'll put some purty stuff aside for you. I just finished two guardless hunters with BL and green spacers...really interesting contrast.

Side note: Don Adams said to tell everyone Hi! He's a real busy guy these days, but managed to find the time to ride up from Newnan on his new acquizition Saturday.......great big 'ol BMW cycle. (He's been talking to our miscreant friend up in Blairsville, Dennis Bradley.) Good looking bike!

Joan, it is so good to hear from you, hope all is well. Come by the Twins in Feb. , I'm sure everyone would be thrilled to see you. Have a merry Christmas. BTW, I'm teaching Danny Moye to make knives. He is from Swainsboro originally . Thought you might know him.

Avery has been asking when we are going to another knife meeting. Travel ball for him, horseback riding for Emmie and Micah just being Micah has kept most of our weekends otherwise occupied. But with the next meeting at the Twins we just might try to make it. I will keep checking here for the announcement for the date.

Very cool! I'd love to see a live tutorial on friction folders if anyone wants to do one. Andy and I have both wanted to get into doing folders, but there's only so much you can get from videos. I'd love to have someone to bounce a bunch of questions off of.
