Scramasax influenced blade
Finished this a little while ago, but was playing around with taking pictures this weekend and trying to make them look good. The blade is made out of 1095 and is differentially heat treated. The handle is made out of teak. The blade length is about 10 inches. This image shows a hint of the temper line. It only has a 240 grit finish. Jamie |

Scramasax
Hi Jamie!
Number one, I can't see the pictures you posted of your Scramasax above - is that my computer or yours? Number two, have you gotten anywhere with translating the Futhorc on the Thames Scramasax? I've been working for some time on translating the 28 runes, and know they are out of order and that the last rune is even apparently out of date, plus I don't really believe the "Beagnop" on the knife is the maker's name. Have you gotten very far into this? Thank you! Gene |

It looks like that the link was before I moved my pictures, here's the new ones.
and I've done a few more since then as well. Like this one... Gene, I really haven't spent much time at all doing any translating. I put them on from time to time, but that's about it. Scaramasax
Magnificient looking knives, Jamie! You ought to be really proud of your work!
I'm just now finishing up a large Persian Fighter - the blade is out being heat and Cryo treated right now But, I'm already getting ready to order the steel for my large authentic Scramasax. Fascinating pieces of history! Happy New Year! Gene |
