I think it looks really good but I wonder if all that polishing might not make it a bit slippery in actual use. You should test it thoroughly so you know what to expect from it.

Wow. For only your sixth try I'd say this is darn' good! i would love to have a closer look at your file work. One thing I would perhaps do different is the line of the pins. I would keep them in the center of the grip, parallel to the spine. But that's just me...
How did you inscribe the letters? Are they etched? The are very sharp and in good contrast. I agree that I would perhaps do only one side and keep them smaller, but that's just me... Keep it up!

Thanks for the comments/advice. I have been reading this forum and taking you guy?s advice for a year now. Thanks. I probably have an advantage over some newbies, I have been a self employed machinist/ welder for the past forty years. The only reason I haven?t been making knifes all along, is the time it takes, and knife making is addictive. I would be grinding on a knife instead of working at my job. I love reading this forum and seeing how others are making knifes.
My wife and I are going to the balloon fest in Albuquerque, NM this weekend. When we return
I am going to post a picture of all the knifes I have made. In order of their evolution.
To the responder. Dallas. I see a fishing reel in your picture. I like Zebco?s. I know they are not as good
As they use to be. My Uncle, my Dads brother invented the Zebco. Local people who knew him say I am just like him. We both have spent a lifetime tinkering with new inventions.
I plan to take a Deer this year. We will see how one of these knifes really work. I may need to make one, more designed for skinning. Thanks for your advice.

Zero Bombsite Company......tell your uncle (if he's still alive) "Thank you for your service". I know many fellas that used their pre-reel products in ernest.

Welcome to the addiction Torchart....there is no 12 step program, so cope the best you can.
Looking forward to see your other work.
